Wow, finally got the braces off – at least off the upper teeth. You hardly know I still have the lowers on. Dr. Williams said it will take a few more months to get my bite equilibrated. Feels great to be able to feel the front of my teeth again. It’s one of those simple pleasures you take for granted.

I am 61 years old. You are the 1st person who’s blog I’ve read that had braces. I had braces put on before my surgery to help stabalize during surgery. Some days I get really discouraged. I am 6 months post op. I have difficulity eating most foods and I am still sticking to mostly soft food. The orthodontist says a lot of the reason I have difficulty eating is the braces and when he takes them off I will see a big difference. I also have pain on my left jaw. It appears lower in the mirror and I can feel that it is lower with out looking. I go to my surgeon on Aug 24th 2010. The left side is also sunk in in that area where there is pain. I sure hope he can do some thing to help. I had mine done in my home town of Louisivlle, KY. I know yours was done at the Emory Clinic. It sound like you have had really good results. Other than the braces which take a long time anyway.
It was so good to read your blog. If you could let me know how you are feeling now I would appreciate it. Thanks
Dear Susie,
Hope you are doing better. It did take a very long time for all the pain to go away in my case. I am doing very well now and thankful that I had a good outcome.
