Dear Susie,

Hope you are doing better. It did take a very long time for all the pain to go away in my case. I am doing very well now and thankful that I had a good outcome.

I am 61 years old. You are the 1st person who's blog I've read that had braces. I had braces put on before my surgery to help stabalize during surgery. Some days I get really discouraged. I am 6 months post op. I have difficulity eating most foods and I am still sticking to mostly soft food. The orthodontist says a lot of the reason I have difficulty eating is the braces and when he takes them off I will see a big difference. I also have pain on my left jaw. It appears lower in the mirror and I can feel that it is lower with out looking. I go to my surgeon on Aug 24th 2010. The left side is also sunk in in that area where there is pain. I sure hope he can do some thing to help. I had mine done in my home town of Louisivlle, KY. I know yours was done at the Emory Clinic. It sound like you have had really good results. Other than the braces which take a long time anyway.
It was so good to read your blog. If you could let me know how you are feeling now I would appreciate it. Thanks
